While fairly level and easy going there is one(sometimes very muddy) ditch to be negotiated along the way. Horses, Cattle and Sheep may almost certainly be encountered en route.

While fairly level and easy going there are two challenging banks which require some agility and reasonable fitness to negotiate At one point the A303 has to be crossed and extreme care must be taken as traffic on this road moves extremely fast

While fairly level and easy going there are a couple of stiles more difficult than most to negotiate At one point the main Ilminster road has to be crossed and extreme care must be taken as traffic on this road moves extremely fast.
Approximately four and a half miles circular walk through varied countryside. A very pretty and varied walk, hilly in some places. Mostly field footpaths, there are a number of stiles, farm gates and gullies to negotiate with some road walking and a couple of steepish hills. Suggested stop off midway for light refreshment at the Lord Poulett.

The Volunteer, Seavington St Michael, Can be completed in just over two hours, at a leisurely pace allow three hours+ including 'pub time'. This is a mixture of road walking and field footpaths through open farmland. There are a minimum of stiles and gates. Sections can be quite muddy after heavy rainfall.
A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this almost four and a half mile near circular walk through West Chinnock and Chiselborough. Bus departs South Petherton about 10.30am, arrives at the Byme Bridge, Monarchs Way footpath at 10.45am. Walk to Chiselborough by way of West Chinnock stopping at two Pubs for coffee or general watering or a light lunch. The Nippy Bus will pick up walkers at Chiselborough and return to South Petherton ealrly afternoon. The walk can be achieved in two and a quarter hours, but allow three plus to cater for the slowest and the pit stops along the way.
A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this magnificent three and a half mile walk alongside the renowned River Parret. The Swans are back, Kingfishers and Herons are on the river, and recent sightings of Otter have been reported. Bus departs South Petherton about 10.30am, arrives at footpath at 10.45am. Walk to Mulchelney and the School Farm Tea Shop for tea, coffee or a light lunch, where the Nippy Bus will pick up walkers and return to South Petherton.
A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this four mile walk to Burrow Hill Cider Farm. In season (September/October/November) watch apples being pressed in historic surroundings, and maybe sample some of the goodies. Walk to a local pub, The Rusty Axe in Stembridge, for lunch before catching a Nippy Bus back to South Petherton or Yeovil. Bus connections are available from Yeovil.

A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this wild and interesting three and a half mile walk alongside the withy fields of Kingsbury Episcopi. If you don’t mind getting wet, a good day to go is when it is grey, overcast and there is a light drizzle. Bus departs South Petherton about 10.30am, arrives at footpath at 10.45am. Walk to Stembridge and The Rusty Axe for tea, coffee, lunch or whatever where the Nippy Bus will pick up walkers and return to South Petherton.
A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this, just over, four-mile walk that takes in a large section of the disused Westport Canal. The route takes you along the edge of the old canal where it is not difficult to imagine horses, barges and bargemen plying their trade in the seventeen and eighteen hundreds. Field footpaths then lead to The Smokery for lunch or light refreshments. There is a mixture of Stiles, Kissing,and Bristol Gates. There is a small amount of road walking and sections can be extremely muddy after heavy rainfall.
Kingsbury Circular Nippy Bus Walk
via Gawbridge Mill and East Lambrook
Walk there and ride back (about four miles) or do the full circular of about seven and a half miles. Outward, the walk is flat, folowing the river Parrett and East Lambrook Brook to Kingbury. Stop for refreshments and then either catch the Nippy Bus to South Petherton, or walk back through Cattle fields and Orchards. A real delight. There is a mixture of Stiles, Kissing,and Bristol Gates. There is a small amount of road walking and sections can be extremely muddy after heavy rainfall.
Lopen to Seavington Nippy Bus Walk
A maximum of fourteen at a time may join this almost five mile walk through some of the prettiest countryside south of South Petherton. The walk is mainly foot paths and farm tracks and skirts the Roman road, 'Fosse Way' until Dinnington Docks is reached. There are many milking Cows and lots and lots of mud and slurry on the way, so this is not for the feint hearted. Care needs to be taken, especially if you have a dog. The paths are fairly level but somewhat rough going. From Dinnington through to Seavington can get very wet and mucky under foot. There is a mixture of Stiles, Kissing,and Bristol Gates. Should the Nippy Bus be late in picking us up, there is a small amount of road walking that will take us to the Volunteer in Seavington St Michael, where at least we may wait in comfort.
