Lufton College Coffee Shop Walk
Bluebells make no April fool of walkers
| Lufton College Coffee Shop hosted walkers from Yeovil and South Petherton on their April Fools Day walk. After starting with a strong coffee and an over size piece of ‘diet free’ cake, a group of twenty-five walked a gentle four miles or so, through open countryside to Montacute. |
 |
| Montacute House formed the perfect backdrop to what can only be described as the most perfect of days. From Montacute, the group took their time passing through Lady Walk, looking for and finding the first Bluebells of the season. |
 |
Early signs maybe, but with the find there came the promise of an early carpet of blue yet to come. Bright sky, birds singing, spring flowers and the sight of three or four deer reminded all of the privilege we have of living in such a beautiful part of the world.
|
 | On return to the Coffee Shop a full roast lunch was prepared and exquisitely presented by Lufton students, Ben, pictured left, being our most excellent Maitre d’ for the day, supported by Lufton’s two unsung heroines, Ann and Penny. | |
| Of course the day wouldn’t be complete without the Coffee Shop's, by now world renowned, desserts to die for. Try the Cheesecake, or the Meringue with ice cream or cream, or the Rhubarb Crumble. You get the picture. |
The Lufton College Coffee Shop Life Skills/Work Experience program is supported by South Petherton Walking Group. |
