Farmers, Landowners and those living and walking in the local countryside are invited to participate in the local Farm Watch scheme.
South Petherton Walking Group are building a contact list of local Farmers and Landowners which, as it is updated, we will be passed to Avon and Somerset Police. Participation in the Farm Watch scheme is easy. All that is required is the address of the Farm or Property, contact names. email address, landline and as many mobile contact numbers as possible.
As it is updated, the list will be made available to SPWG walkers so they may let farmers know if they come across straying animals, animals in distress, or fences down etc. More serious matters will be reported directly to the Police.
The Police will, with more serious matters, text around to those on the 'text list' to ensure that we are all aware when the scallywags are on the loose.
